Medical Billing Specialist NHC HomeCare Florida Regional Office in Panama City, FL is looking for an Insurance A/R Specialist to join our team. This position works under the direction of the Billing Manager to assure the accurate and timely collection of Homecare accounts receivable from Medicare, managed care, and commercial insurance.Qualifications:High school diploma. Additional business and computer courses desirable3+ years of third-party healthcare billing experience, preferably in home health care, including multiple carrier experience with EOB's and claims denialsKnowledge of Medicare and Third Party Insurance GuidelinesSelf-motivated. Able to work with little supervisionProficient in verbal and written communications, including active listening skillsStrong organizational skills, work ethic, and high attention to detailInvestigative personality-ability to efficiently determine the problem and get to the bottom of an issueExcellent customer service and telephone etiquette skillsPerformance Requirements:Ability to speak, read, write, hear/comprehend in order to communicate adequately to carry out job duties and responsibilitiesMental acuity high enough to adequately perform job requirements and learn new skillsAbility to work cooperatively and harmoniously with a wide variety of people including insurance companies, patients, and other NHC HomeCare staffMust have predictable and consistent attendanceSpecific Responsibilities:Work outstanding Aged Accounts ReportsMaintain a file on accounts requiring follow up until accounts are satisfactorily resolved.Review claims denials and submit corrected claims and/or follow up appealsAssist patients in understanding their balances after insurance has processedBe a reliable resource for other staff regarding insurance and their requirementsCommunicate with homecare offices as needed for claim and collection follow upOther duties as assigned from time to timeNational HealthCare Corporation is recognized nationwide as an innovator in the delivery of quality long-term care.
