Overview
Apache Workforce is seeking motivated Mechanical Helpers to support the assembly of industrial equipment and mechanical systems for leading manufacturing partners. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or grow a career in mechanical assembly and manufacturing.
Mechanical Helpers assist Mechanical Assemblers by gathering materials, preparing components, using hand and power tools, and helping complete daily production tasks while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Mechanical Helpers are responsible for:
Assisting Mechanical Assemblers with the installation and assembly of industrial equipment and components
Gathering parts, hardware, tools, and materials needed to complete daily production tasks
Learning to read and follow blueprints, engineered drawings, and assembly instructions
Using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and measuring devices safely and accurately
Assisting with mechanical and sub-assembly work
Operating overhead cranes and forklifts under supervision (when authorized)
Reporting damaged materials, equipment issues, or safety concerns to supervisors
Maintaining clean and organized work areas while following 5S principles
Following OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies
Participating in safety meetings and training as required
Performing other production and shop duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
High School Diploma or GED required
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
Interest in building a long-term career in manufacturing or mechanical assembly
Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools
Ability to read measuring, torque, and leveling devices
Ability to work well in a team environment and follow directions
Good verbal and written English communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or assembly experience
Basic blueprint or schematic reading experience
Forklift and/or overhead crane certification
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S practices
Work Environment
Work is performed in a manufacturing and fabrication facility and may include:
Standing for up to 10 hours per shift
Working up to 6 days per week based on production needs
Frequent lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.
Bending, reaching, walking, and repetitive movement throughout the shift
Working in a non-climate-controlled environment
Exposure to industrial noise and manufacturing equipment
Steel-toe boots required
Safety glasses required
Hearing protection recommended
