Principal Program Systems Integration Engineer
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Principal Program Systems Integration Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA. Due to security requirements, work is required to be on-site in a secure facility.The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge SE&I for the Space Force’s Space System Command. We support the Space Force’s acquisition of state-of-the-art MILSATCOM systems, providing secure global, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement integration strategies and processes to successfully integrate satellite communication systems, segments (Ground, Space, Crypto, Terminals), subsystems, elements, and components; manage the technical baselines among different stakeholdersPerform analysis of the systems requirements that define the technical baseline and verification of the technical baselineApply Digital Engineering methods and modeling strategies (i.e. Digital twins) to support integration and test activitiesWork with Government and contractor personnel to close gaps with customer requirements across the program; support major requirements reviews, design reviews, and other associated meetingsLead and support Government/Contractor Working Group meetings—by developing briefings, leading discussion, and writing minutes—to address/resolve risks, issues, and action itemsReview proposed changes to the technical baseline for impacts to enterprise capabilities and to cross-stakeholder integration concernsDefine and deliver alternative solutions to address different integration challenges; manage schedule impact and overall delivery of productsFacilitate review of contractor-developed program documents by performing technical assessments and providing comments, compiling other review team comments, and working with contractors to adjudicate the comments Serve as a subject matter expert to assess technical issues and to prepare briefings to U.S. Space Force program office personnel and other stakeholders; provide courses of actions to support Government decisionsSupport management of risks, issues, interdependencies, identifying schedule disconnects and conflicts, developing action plans for resolution, and assisting the Government in executing selected solutionsWork EnvironmentLocation: On-siteTravel Requirements: MinimalWorking Hours: StandardQualificationsRequired:Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearanceMS in technical field, such as engineering and computer science.15+ years demonstrated work experience in Systems Engineering 10+ years demonstrated work experience leading technical teamsStrong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skillsProficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams)Work is on-site in a secure facility due to customer security requirementsDesired Skills And ExperiencePhD in technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer scienceExperience working with/on MILSATCOM programs;, such as AEHF, PTS, EPS, WGS, or FAB-T terminal programsExperience working with military personnel and DoD civiliansExperience with ground and space systems, such as terminals and networksDemonstrated strong Systems Engineering and Technical Leadership experienceKnowledge and experience in Agile Development and collaboration tools (Jira/Confluence)Compensation: The pay range for this position in California is $140,000/year to $200,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
