The organization encourages career growth and advancement within both its service and sales operations.Role Description The Master Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at Coliseum Lexus in Oakland, CA. This role is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Lexus vehicles, including engine, transmission, electrical, hybrid, and safety systems. Day-to-day tasks include using manufacturer-approved diagnostic tools, troubleshooting complex drivability concerns, performing factory-recommended services, and ensuring all work meets Lexus and dealership quality standards. The Master Technician also reviews repair orders, documents all findings and repairs accurately, and communicates clearly with service advisors about vehicle status and recommended work. The role supports less-experienced technicians through mentorship, helps maintain a clean and safe shop environment, follows all safety and compliance procedures, and participates in ongoing Lexus training and certifications.Qualifications Extensive experience as an automotive technician, preferably with luxury or import brands; prior Lexus or Toyota experience is strongly preferred.Advanced diagnostic and repair skills across engine, transmission, electrical, hybrid, braking, and steering/suspension systems.Current ASE certifications and/or manufacturer certifications at an advanced or master level, or a strong willingness to obtain and maintain them.Proficiency with OEM diagnostic tools, scan equipment, service information systems, and electronic repair documentation.Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to performing safe, accurate, and efficient repairs.Effective communication skills to collaborate with service advisors, parts personnel, and other technicians.Ability to mentor and support other technicians, share technical knowledge, and contribute to a positive team culture.Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to operate a variety of vehicles safely.High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an automotive technology program or related technical training is preferred.Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, including lifting, standing, and working with tools and equipment in a shop environment.
