Mobile Service TechnicianA Mobile Diesel Technician is responsible for providing the highest quality repair services to Southport Truck Group's customers and maintaining exceptional customer service.Essential DutiesInspect, diagnose, and repair general heavy and medium-duty trucksDocument all repairs and pertinent information to the work performed and track job time on in-house business system(s) via a repair orderPerform preventive maintenance as neededTag and document all warranty and core items appropriatelyAssist other Technicians in more difficult and complex maintenance and repair tasks if neededMaintain and enhance mechanical knowledge and stay current on required OE trainingAdhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials for which the role has responsibilityAdhere to and promote stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety, security, and quality management. Recognize and report all accidents and hazardous conditionsQuality Inspection tests on repaired vehiclesPerform other work-related duties as assignedQualificationsExperience working on heavy/medium duty trucks or formal training from technical schoolDiagnostic and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment utilized within heavy/medium duty truckPossess work-related hand tools (not including heavy duty or diagnostic tools)A neat and organized approach to work & reportingAbility to operate maintenance equipment safelyAbility to understand and follow oral and written instructionsAbility to meet attendance requirementAbility to spend prolonged periods of time standing or walkingAbility to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and sit on a regular basis with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 poundsAbility to drive company and customer vehiclesPreferredValid Class A or Class B, Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
