Registered Nurse (RN) - General Radiology, Per Diem

AMI is seeking an experienced Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) for General Radiology coverage in the Brick office locations and the surrounding region of offices. Offered rates increase based on years of work experience.Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse (RN) include, but are not limited to:Assists the entire outpatient radiology team and multiple modalities with patient care through a variety of diagnostic tests and procedures.Obtains IV access.Administers medications to aid with the examination.Assesses patients using clinical judgement.Depending on office location, may be responsible for scheduling biopsies, assisting Radiologists during procedures, and pathology management.Performs office related tasks and projects to ensure the efficient, orderly and timely delivery of patient care.Ensures communication of patient status and results is provided to all involved members of the healthcare team.Demonstrates appropriate level of empathy, understanding and interest in the needs of all patients referred to AMI.Functions as a patient advocate and radiologist liaison.Performs other duties as required and assigned.This position will provide coverage in the AMI offices in Wall, Brick, and Toms River. Shift times include 7am-3:30pm and 7:30am-4pm, Monday-Friday. Specific coverage needs are Monday & Wednesday; availability on these days is strongly preferred.Schedules and locations may change based on department needs.Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and possess a current RN license in the State of New Jersey. American Heart Association (AHA) BLS & ACLS certifications are required prior to the start of employment. Eligible candidates have at least three (3) years of professional clinical RN experience. Strong IV skills and techniques are required for this position. Candidate must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of medications to include potential contraindications and side effects. Experience in identifying and understanding cardiac rhythms is also required based on the nature of the role. Strong computer skills, including EMR experience, are required.Candidates must be able to identify, react, and respond quickly to emergent patient situations.
