Role: Sr Developer (SQL / Data, AWS, analytics)Location: Rockville, MD or Tysons, VA (3 days onsite per week)Role: Seeking Analytics engineer with strong SQL/AWS who will think about how to engineer / transform data into more meaningful analytics *Not an ETL developer or ‘keep the lights on’ engineer role*Probably not a pure BI engineer Possible profiles: Hybrid data analyst/engineer, data engineer, SQL developer, data/cloud engineer, analytics engineer, AWS data engineersMust have’s: Strong SQL background Strong AWS ß Have one of these in order of priority: Athena …or RDS…or Hive (AWS based data querying) Strong analytical background: Know how to transform data/analytics and related solutionsNice to have’s:Python, AI, CI/CDSpace: Modernization phase: Will support Diver and scale up into other applicationsJD: Senior role focused on delivering analytics, dashboards, and insights using existing enterprise data. Works across SQL and AWS (Athena, RDS, Hive) to enable business decision-making through reliable and scalable reporting solutions. Not an ETL/data pipeline role.This is not a task execution role—expected to challenge the status quo, question assumptions, and drive better data-driven decisions.• Build and optimize SQL-based analytics and reporting solutions• Analyze data using AWS services (Athena, RDS, Hive)• Develop and maintain dashboards and KPI reports• Define and refine business metrics and KPIs with stakeholders• Improve analytics efficiency through reusable queries and views• Build lightweight automation/tools to reduce manual reporting effort• Ensure data accuracy and reliability through validation and testing• Perform testing, including:• Regression testing of dashboards/reports• Performance testing of queries• Unit and end-to-end (E2E) testingMust-Have Skills• Strong SQL (advanced queries, optimization, performance tuning)• Experience with AWS analytics services (Athena, RDS, Hive)• Strong background in data analysis and dashboarding• Understanding of KPIs, metrics, and reporting logic• Experience in data validation and testingGood-to-Have Skills• BI tools (QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI)• AWS ecosystem (S3, EMR, Glue, Lambda)• Basic Angular/frontend exposure• Python or scripting for automation• Experience with CI/CD and testing frameworksFocus• Analytics, reporting, and insights (not ETL)• AWS-based data querying
