A growing mechanical contractor is seeking a motivated Junior Project Manager (Project Engineer) with hands-on exposure to HVAC and plumbing systems. This role is ideal for someone who has worked in the field or supported mechanical projects and is now ready to step into a project-focused position with mentorship, structure, and long-term growth. If you have foundational experience in mechanical systems and a desire to build your career in project management, this opportunity offers a strong development path.ResponsibilitiesSupport senior project managers in planning, coordinating, and executing HVAC and plumbing projectsAssist with reviewing drawings, specifications, and scopes of workHelp prepare project schedules, submittals, RFIs, and change ordersCoordinate with field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipmentConduct site walks to monitor progress, verify installations, and document field conditionsTrack project costs, budgets, and labor hoursAssist with procurement, purchase orders, and inventory coordinationMaintain project documentation, logs, and reportsCommunicate with clients, inspectors, and internal teams as neededSupport close-out tasks including punch lists, O&M manuals, and final documentationQualifications1-3 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, mechanical construction, or a related fieldUnderstanding of HVAC components, plumbing systems, and mechanical installation processesAbility to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical documentsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office and basic project management toolsWillingness to learn scheduling, budgeting, and project coordinationAbility to work on-site as needed and collaborate with field teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting project managers or foremen in a mechanical contracting environmentFamiliarity with construction project workflowsExposure to estimating, takeoffs, or cost trackingCoursework or training in construction management, engineering, or mechanical tradesWhy This Role Stands OutDirect mentorship from experienced project managersClear growth path toward full Project Manager responsibilitiesExposure to diverse HVAC and plumbing projectsCollaborative environment with strong field and office supportOpportunity to build a long-term career in mechanical constructionInvitation to ApplyIf you are local to the area and have foundational HVAC and plumbing experience with a desire to grow into project management, we invite you to apply by submitting your resume.
