Candidates must have strong recent open-heart CVOR experience and be fully capable of scrubbing complex cardiovascular procedures independently. This role requires call participation, flexibility, and strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures in a fast-paced surgical environment.Responsibilities:• Provide intraoperative nursing care for cardiovascular/open-heart surgical procedures• Scrub and circulate complex cardiac surgery cases independently• Assist surgeons during CABG, valve replacement/repair, thoracic, and other open-heart procedures• Maintain sterile field and ensure adherence to surgical safety and infection prevention protocols• Prepare surgical suites, instruments, equipment, and supplies for cardiovascular procedures• Monitor patient status and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and surgical teams during procedures• Respond to emergency cardiac surgery and trauma cases as needed during scheduled and on-call hours• Complete accurate documentation using Epic EMR• Participate in on-call rotation with required 30-minute response time• Float to similar perioperative areas as needed based on facility needsKey Requirements:• Minimum 2 years recent CVOR experience required• Open-heart surgery experience REQUIRED• Scrub experience REQUIRED• Epic EMR experience REQUIRED• BLS certification required• Must be comfortable taking call• 30-minute response time required for call shifts• Manager interview required• Candidate subject to clinical prescreening prior to manager review• Maximum RTO allowed: 7 days• Traveler expected to work at least 1 major holiday if needed• Must be comfortable caring for COVID-positive patients• Tobacco-free and fragrance-free facility policy strictly enforcedEducation:• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing programExperience:• Minimum 2 years recent CVOR RN experience required• Strong recent open-heart surgery experience required• Experience scrubbing cardiac cases independently required• Acute care hospital operating room experience required• Experience with high-acuity cardiovascular surgical procedures preferredLicense:• Active RN license required• BLS certification requiredSkills:• CVOR Circulating• CVOR Scrubbing• Open Heart Surgery• CABG Procedures• Valve Repair/Replacement Procedures• Sterile Technique• Surgical Instrumentation• Cardiovascular Surgical Procedures• Intraoperative Patient Monitoring• Surgical Safety Protocols• Emergency Cardiac Procedures• Epic EMR Documentation• On-Call Surgical Response• Interdisciplinary Surgical Team Collaboration
