Application Engineer I (2300 - Industrial Control Systems)

About the RoleWe are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Commercial Application Engineer (CAE) to support sales activities, drive customer engagement, and deliver tailored techno-commercial solutions for industrial control systems.In this role, you will work cross-functionally with sales, engineering, finance, and product teams to translate customer requirements into competitive, technically sound proposals aligned with global business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and influence customer specifications, drawings, RFPs, and RFQs; develop compliance documentationAct as the primary technical point of contact for customers, partners, and internal stakeholdersLead the quoting process for both standard and complex control system offeringsUtilize tools, technical libraries, and design standards to develop customized solutionsEnsure accurate cost estimation and manage technical, execution, and commercial risksCollaborate with supply chain and third-party vendors for extended scope quotationsPartner with sales and pricing teams to develop competitive deal strategiesConsolidate deal financials and support commercial review approvalsManage tender schedules and ensure timely submission and internal approvalsLead proposal development and participate in customer presentations and negotiationsOversee project handoff from inquiry-to-order (ITO) to execution teamsContribute to continuous improvement of processes, templates, and best practicesMeet key performance metrics such as proposal cycle time, quality, and on-time deliveryRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or Power preferred)Minimum 5 years of experience in application engineering, design, or field commissioningStrong experience in industrial control systemsWillingness to travel up to 30%Strong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with standard computer and engineering toolsPreferred QualificationsExperience with commercial and contractual processesBackground in control systems such as:Gas/Steam Turbines, Hydro, Nuclear systemsDistributed Control Systems (DCS)Generator systems (Excitation/Static Starters)Human Machine Interface (HMI) and cyber solutionsExperience in proposal writing and technical specificationsStrong problem-solving and creative thinking abilitiesHigh energy, self-motivated, and passionate about technology
