Analyst Airline Optimization Operability

Position Summary:JetBlue is looking for an Analyst Airline Optimization - Operability to be based at JetBlue's Support Center in Long Island City, NY. The Airline Optimization - Operability team is responsible for understanding and quantifying the effects of the Network on the Operation, and vice versa. The Airline Optimization - Operability team will then support planning decisions across the company to maximize the airline's end-to-end profitability and operational robustness.The team's short-term responsibilities include helping to optimize schedules and operational targets and working across teams to prepare the schedule for deployment. Longer-term responsibilities focus on helping closely align JetBlue's network plan with its operational footprint.The ideal Analyst Airline Optimization - Operability will have excellent quantitative and interpersonal skills, helping them to excel at working across teams to measure and balance planning requirements. Analytical and modeling experience are required.Essential Responsibilities:Evaluate network and operational plans to identify latent inefficiencies and recommend data-driven improvements that enhance schedule reliability, operational efficiency, and resource utilizationCollaborate closely with Crew Services, Schedule Planning, and Route Planning teams to develop and evaluate pairing scenarios, assess the revenue and operational impact of proposed decisions, and implement schedule or pairing adjustments as necessaryUse planning scenarios to measure the cost impact of schedule changesUse tools to forecast operability outcomes and disruption riskBuild relationships with Operational teams to help align short- and long-term planning decisionsManage metrics and reporting, including regularly updating decision support dashboardsOther duties as assignedMinimum Experience and Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, or related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experienceOne (1) year of analytical or related experience achieved either via school or work experienceOne (1) year of aviation experience achieved either via school or work experience, with a strong preference for roles involving crew planning, crew analytics, and airline operationsStrong capabilities with database querying (e.g., SQL) and/or high-level programming language(s) (such as Python or R)One (1) year of experience in developing and maintaining interactive dashboards and data visualizations using Tableau, demonstrating strong proficiency in leveraging Tableau's advanced features and functionalities to support data-driven decision-makingStrong airline business acumenExcellent data analysis and problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication abilityAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to work under pressure in a fast paced, deadline driven environmentProficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPointAvailable for occasional overnight travel (10%)Must pass a pre-employment drug testMust be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is locatedAuthorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorshipPreferred Experience and Qualifications:* Knowledge and/or experience in traditional machine learning and modeling* Experience with financial modelling or project managementCrewmember Expectations:Regular attendance and punctualityPotential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-noticeAble to maintain a professional appearanceWhen working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraftMust be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and FunPromote JetBlue's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standardsIdentify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the positionEquipment:* Computer and other office equipmentWork Environment:Traditional office environmentAirports Environment (10%)Hangar (10%)Physical Effort:* Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently (Sedentary)Compensation:* The base pay range for this position is between $64,350.00 and $89,600.00 per year.
