Project Biologist/Ecologist:

Summary
TEP is currently seeking a full-time Environmental Biologist/Ecologist to conduct field work and technical report writing and reviews for telecommunications regulatory compliance projects and wetland delineation projects throughout the United States.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in biological/physical/environmental sciences
2+ years demonstrated experience in leading biology/ecology field tasks (water/wetland delineations, protected species surveys, etc.) and preparing associated technical documentation
Detail oriented with excellent organizational and analytical abilities
Proven experience in field work involving environmental assessment site reconnaissance and/or threatened and endangered species surveys or habitat assessments
Working knowledge of wetland science, flora/fauna and ecosystems of the United States and relevant regulatory requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to work with office machinery including computers, fax machine, copier, etc.
Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
Exceptional writing and proofing skills
Ability to cultivate strong relationships within a team
Ability to perform field work outside in a variety of weather conditions and terrain
Comfortable with solo fieldwork, including airline travel/booking travel and accommodations within a budget
Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of civil and environmental deliverables, thoroughly assessing materials for accuracy and clarity in the regulatory assessment and consultation process
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Conduct project research as applicable to the scope of work
Data compilation and organization
Conducting site reconnaissance, including field sampling, as deemed necessary
Technical report writing
Plan, schedule, and track project timelines and milestones to ensure project progress status is on schedule
Assist in conducting NEPA reviews and Environmental Assessments in accordance with NEPA requirements for the FCC. This includes site inspections for threatened and endangered species and wetland indicators
Assist in performing informal biological assessments to evaluate potential impacts on threatened and endangered species in coordination with the US Fish and Wildlife Services
Completion of wetland/stream delineations and permitting
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be at site locations (both on the ground and on building roof tops), sit, stand, walk, use both hands, and reach and raise items above the head, use fingers to feel and handle, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds
Work Environment
Approximately 25% performed in an external environment, on-site, outdoors, exposed to the elements of nature working under normal construction conditions. Approximately 75% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Hybrid work schedule (three days in office) is available following 60-day probationary period.
