Linux Engineer

Overview In this role you will strengthen a hybrid-cloud infrastructure by bringing automation and Debian expertise to a skilled Linux team. You will help streamline operations through Ansible, scripting, and AI integration efforts, bridging engineering and automation across on-prem and cloud resources. You will work in a 24/7 environment, addressing Tier 2–4 support while contributing to accreditation and deployment documentation. ResponsibilitiesManage Windows and Linux servers, storage, and virtualization componentsLead data center tasks: capacity management, hardware installation, inventory, decommissioning, and destructionCoordinate engineering projects, assess risks, de-conflict implementations, and resolve technical questionsGather performance metrics, maintain inventory including encryption devices, and monitor thresholdsProvide Tier-3 support for virtualization infrastructure and automation solutionsOversee Windows Group Policy, AWS-based Windows server deployment, and adherence to sponsor security postureMaintain configuration standards aligning with security requirements (STIGs)Support and operate infrastructure environments and perform O&M activitiesDocument system deployments and accreditation activities across the environment Key requirementsActive TS/SCI with PolyBachelor degree with 12+ years experience or Master with 10+ years or 16 years experience in lieu of degreeDebian Linux experienceConfig/management of VMware vCenter and VMware NSX-TExperience coordinating engineering projects and resolving conflictsActive Directory, DNS, DFS, and DHCP administrationDISA STIGs experienceExperience with Splunk, Check_MK, McAfee EPO, and BitLockerServiceNow requirements management experienceWindows Group Policy, AWS environment familiaritySecurity posture alignment and O&M of infrastructure environmentsStrong collaboration across cross-functional teamsEffective written and verbal communicationProblem solving and technical risk assessmentAnsibleScriptingDebian Linux
