Are you looking for your next opportunity?Sompo has a unique opportunity for an Underwriting Technician in our Commercial Property Team.As an Underwriting Technician, you’ll manage policy submissions and ensure timely processing and delivery of quotes, binders, and policies to producers, meeting established service standards. You’ll also support the underwriting team by providing technical analysis and insights to help evaluate risk and inform decisions.Location: This position can be based out of our New York, NY; Chicago, IL, Morristown, NJ; Conshohocken, PA; or Alpharetta, GA offices. We strive for collaboration which is why we offer a work environment where our employees thrive and develop long lasting careers.Our Business, Your Impact, Our OpportunityWhat you’ll be doing:Assist underwriters with reviewing submissions, quoting, binding, policy issuance, and endorsement workflowsCreate, register, process and distribute binders, policies, and endorsements within processing standardsAssist in the development and maintenance of underwriting workflows and procedures, ensuring accurate and complete documentation for all bound accountsPrepare all policies in accordance with final binders inclusive of review by underwriting staffReview and analyze facultative reinsurance certificates as determined by managementProactively communicate with producers for any outstanding information and ensure timely follow-up to support the underwriting processImplement and maintain a field service reputation that is recognized as superior in the industryProvide backup support to team members to ensure continuity of operations and maintain service standardsWhat You’ll BringMinimum 5 years of experience in underwriting or insurance support with similar responsibilitiesStrong problem solving and decision-making abilitiesAbility to effectively communicate information and ideas to drive our businessTechnical capabilities such as Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe AcrobatStrong planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficientlySalary Range: $60,000 - $95,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.At Sompo, we recognize that the talent, skills, and commitment of our employees drive our success.
