TITLE: Adjunct Instructor CommunicationsDEPARTMENT: School of Arts, Communication and HumanitiesREPORTS TO:ChairEFFECTIVE DATE: January 2024EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-timeEMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: ExemptPRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:Adjunct Instructor in Communication, with a minimum qualification of a Master's Degree (minimum 18 credit hours in Communication) in the field from an accredited institution, and commitment to teaching Communication in a Historically Black College and University (HBCU).SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:Teaching courses in Communication, especially Interpersonal Communications, as defined by the Faculty Handbook.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Duties including but not limited to: teaching 1-2 general education courses in various formats including face to face and online modes.OTHER DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Applicants must submit a letter of application including graduate transcript(s), curriculum vitae, and three current letters of recommendation indicating teaching philosophy and adaptability to course modalities.
