Social Media Content Intern (On-Site/Hybrid)Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid – some on-site required) Commitment: ~6 months | Start ASAP We are seeking a creative and motivated Social Media & Digital Content Intern to help produce and manage media content for a growing political advocacy and consulting firm working in and around the California State Capitol. This position is hybrid, but the intern must be able to work on-site in Sacramento 1–2 days per week and occasionally assist with field shoots at the Capitol, office, networking events, speaking engagements, and political campaign events. The ideal candidate is not just an editor, but a creative producer—someone who enjoys storytelling, developing ideas, and helping turn real political and advocacy work into compelling digital media. Role Expectations:You will assist with the production and management of content for the firm and its clients, including: Shooting photo and video content at the office, the California State Capitol, and occasional events Producing short-form social media videos and mini-documentaries about legislative campaigns, advocacy efforts, and political projects Writing copy, scripts, and storyboards for social media posts and video segments Editing video content and preparing clips for Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube Managing weekly content calendars and scheduling posts Assisting with organic growth strategies and paid social media promotionHelping organize and manage social media accounts for the firm and select clients Planning and collaboration will occur in-office, while editing, writing, and account management can be done remotely on your own scheduleSkills & QualificationsWe are looking for someone who is both technical and creativePreferred skills include: Proficiency with smartphone video and photography (minimum) Experience using DSLR or mirrorless cameras for stills or video (preferred) Ability to shoot 1080p and 4K videoVideo editing skills (Premiere, Final Cut, CapCut, DaVinci, or similar) Social media management and analytics knowledge Strong writing and copywriting skills Interest in storytelling, advocacy, or political media Political experience is helpful but not required.What You'll GainThis internship is ideal for students interested in media, political communications, digital storytelling, or advocacy workInterns will receive: Hands-on experience producing political and advocacy media Direct exposure to political and campaign work happening at the California State CapitolA positive character reference and professional recommendation letterA $200 stipend at the completion of the internship termPriority will be given to applicants who are interested in growing with the firm into a future paid role.Commitment6 months (ends approximately September 15, 2026)1–3 on-site days per week in Sacramento as needed Additional event coverage as needed
