Principal DevSecOps & Software Configuration Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Principal DevSecOps & Software Configuration Engineer to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our software development infrastructure, secure software delivery pipelines, and software configuration management processes supporting spacecraft avionics and mission-critical flight software. This technical leadership role is responsible for software configuration management, DevSecOps infrastructure, CI/CD automation, release management, software supply chain security, engineering tool administration, and configuration control throughout the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate has extensive experience supporting aerospace or defense software development and possesses a strong understanding of industry standards, rigorous engineering processes, and multidisciplinary collaboration required for safety-critical and mission-critical software systems.  Essential Responsibilities Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure DevSecOps infrastructure supporting embedded and avionics software development. Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for software build, integration, testing, packaging, and release. Administer and maintain source code management platforms including Git repositories, branching strategies, merge policies, and repository security. Establish and maintain software configuration baselines throughout the software development lifecycle. Manage software releases, version identification, artifact repositories, and software distribution packages. Develop and maintain software configuration management plans, procedures, and controlled engineering documentation. Support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), software change control, and Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities. Perform software configuration audits and maintain configuration status accounting. Implement secure software development practices including automated security scanning, dependency management, software bill of materials (SBOM) generation, code signing, and vulnerability management. Administer engineering tools supporting software development, requirements management, issue tracking, and collaboration. Ensure traceability between software requirements, source code, build artifacts, verification results, and released software baselines. Support software development activities in accordance with applicable customer, aerospace, and cybersecurity requirements. Collaborate closely with software, FPGA, systems, electrical, manufacturing, cybersecurity, quality, and test engineering teams. Support software integration, verification, environmental testing, anomaly resolution, and production releases. Mentor software engineers on DevSecOps, software configuration management, and secure software development best practices. Drive continuous improvement of software development processes, engineering automation, and release efficiency.  Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related discipline. Minimum 8 years of experience supporting software development, DevSecOps, software configuration management, or release engineering. Minimum 5 years supporting aerospace, defense, satellite, or other regulated software development environments. Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines supporting embedded or mission-critical software. Expert knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, or equivalent source control platforms. Experience with software build automation and release management. Experience administering artifact repositories such as Artifactory or Nexus. Strong experience with scripting using Python, Linux, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages. Experience implementing software configuration management processes and controlled engineering documentation. Experience supporting engineering change management and software release governance. Experience supporting software verification, validation, and integration activities.  Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline. Experience supporting DO-178C software development. Experience with spacecraft avionics, embedded software, or real-time operating systems. Knowledge of secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) methodologies. Experience with: GitLab CI/CD Jenkins Docker Kubernetes Ansible Terraform Artifactory Experience with requirements management tools such as: DOORS or JAMA Jama Polarion Experience with: JIRA Confluence Demonstrated experience working in an ITAR- and/or EAR-controlled engineering environment. Working knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and export-controlled engineering practices. Experience handling controlled technical data, software, engineering documentation, and development environments in compliance with export control
