Dental Lab Support Specialist Technician

JOB PURPOSE:Responsible for providing hands-on training to specified laboratory technicians in the laboratory setting. Will also provide Lab production support as requested by the practice. May provide technical training for new hires and existing lab employees. Subject matter expert and consultant in lab processes and procedures and will help identify dental laboratory employee development needs.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provides practical education to dental laboratory technicians to ensure quality standards, level of proficiency and productionMay perform technical and non-technical assessments on both current and prospective employees to identify areas of training and developmentProvides technical training and support to established ADDL laboratories as neededProvides technical assistance and training for new center openingsWorks in partnership with the Regional Manager and Lead Lab Technician/Sr. Lead Lab Technician in determining when each trainee is ready to advance to the next levelProvides temporary, fill-in and new center opening coverage to ADDL laboratories as necessary and required to establish a quality and performance baseline for those laboratoriesParticipates in employee development initiatives by providing regular, accurate and timely feedback to trainee (employee), the Lead Lab Technicians, Practice Owner and ADDL management concerning learnings progress, course completion, testing, transfer of knowledge and skill, behavior motivation, attendance, etc.Provides verbal reports to the GM (and VP of Laboratory Operations as necessary) regarding concerns, issues and positives within the Laboratory and Dental CenterProvides technical assistance, technical troubleshooting and support to Affiliated Dentists, Affordable Care Operations consultants, management and ADDL staff as requestedWorks in partnership with the Regional Manager and Lead Lab Technicians in determining special needs and skills required by the Practice OwnerPerforms duties in the dental laboratory as assignedWhile onsite, seeks to maintain the Client Dentist's satisfaction with laboratory operations (quality, service time, personnel and suppliesExhibits the highest standards of professionalism with all laboratory teams, all Dentists and support staffTravel up to 70% all over the USEducational Requirements:Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferredCertified Dental Technician (CDT) requiredGENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Adaptability, ability to modify one's approach as the requirements of the situation or person change, and to change or easily accept changes to one's own organization or job requirementsExcellent communication, verbal and written, in individual and group situations, inside ACI/ADDL and outsideCustomer orientation, to act meaningfully to serve affiliates and internal customers based on a clear understanding of what these customers need and value mostInterpersonal skills and builds networks, ability to effectively build cooperative relationships with people, manage differences and resolve conflictsGood judgement, problem solving and decision makingsAbility to think through a situation to reach a timely and sound decision, openly commits to and acts after developing and analyzing alternatives in the context of business strategyAbility to teach and delivery standard and customized curriculaDeveloping and coaching others, sustains and expands ADDL talent through continuous learningInstructional systems designMinimum of 5 years of experience in a dental laboratory with increasing responsibilities and working with multi-site hospitals/health systems and/or payers, health, vision and pharmaceutical organizationsExtensive experience in dental operations and serviceExperience managing large networks of customer-facing operations.Healthcare experience preferredSkilled in implementation of LEAN/Six Sigma preferredBenefitsWe care about our employees and understand the hard work that goes into providing the best-in-class patient care.
