The American Red Cross, through its strong network of volunteers, donors and partners, is always there in times of need. We aspire to turn compassion into action so that...all people affected by disaster across the country and around the world receive care, shelter and hope;our communities are ready and prepared for disasters;everyone in our country has access to safe, lifesaving blood and blood products;all members of our armed services and their families find support and comfort whenever needed; andin an emergency, there are always trained individuals nearby, ready to use their Red Cross skills to save lives.,We need volunteers to give back and help their local community. If you have a few hours available every month or two YOU could be a Red Cross Volunteer.Our volunteers help with things like supporting local blood drives, responding to disasters in their community like floods and fires, supporting the local military, transporting life saving blood, even volunteer teams of indivuals that install FREE smoke alarms to homes and families in your community to help keep our neighbors safe! We do all of these things and more. We even have volunteer roles that can be done at home, allowing you to help from the comfort of your own home but still making a difference!
