Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant. In this role you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth progression of legal cases by assisting with document preparation, case tracking, and client communication. You will collaborate closely with the Paralegal and legal team, contributing to efficient workflows and high-quality service for clients navigating sensitive legal matters. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment, values accuracy, and is motivated to support meaningful legal work.Monthly Compensation1,150 to 1,220 USD per month.ResponsibilitiesManage documents, deadlines, and client communications with a high level of accuracy and organizationReview and proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy and complianceIndependently draft legal documents including petitions, stipulations, notices, and basic motion papersAssist in drafting and preparing legal documents including petitions, motions, affidavits, and agreementsPrioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely case progressionTake initiative to move cases forward efficiently, demonstrating a proactive and solutions-oriented approachHandle incoming and outgoing correspondence and ensure proper documentationPerform administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and document organizationSupport case management by tracking deadlines, court dates, and required documentationOrganize and maintain electronic case files in accordance with firm protocolsCollaborate with the legal team to ensure efficient workflow and case progressEnsure familiarity and compliance with court procedures and filings, including NYSCEF and Family Court processesDemonstrate strong experience in New York family law, including divorce, custody, child support, and related mattersSupport the Paralegal in preparing for hearings and trials by gathering relevant informationConduct legal research on case law, statutes, and family law matters as neededAssist in scheduling client meetings, court appearances, and appointmentsRespond to client inquiries and provide necessary forms and instructionsCommunicate with clients via phone, email, or client portals in a professional manner, particularly in high-stress situationsPrepare case summaries and maintain updated client recordsRequirementsSchedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM ESTTime Zone: ESTExperience: 1–2 years in a legal assistant or administrative roleEducation: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferredIndustry Experience: Family law experience is highly preferredLanguage: Advanced English proficiency requiredSoftware: Experience with Clio and Microsoft Office Suite requiredRequired SkillsStrong attention to detailExcellent organizational skillsEffective written and verbal communicationTime management and ability to prioritize tasksAbility to handle confidential and sensitive informationProactive and self-motivated work styleAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong proofreading and writing skillsAdaptability in a fast-paced environmentTeam-oriented mindsetLanguagesEnglish (advanced proficiency required).
