CDL Driver

Job ResponsibilitiesDrivers commercial truck and trailer to transport utility poles to and from specified destinations applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads. Loads/unloads utility poles by operating attached boom. Responsible for pickup and delivery paperwork.Inspects equipment for safety prior to use and performs necessary basic maintenance tasksInspects and ensures that truck and trailer are in satisfactory "over the road" conditionInspects and ensures that load is secured to meet regulations and product is protected during transportComplies with state and deferral regulations and lawsComplies with company policies and proceduresMaintains organized and detailed documentationDelivers products to customers in a timely, efficient, cost-effective and safe manner while preserving quality of loaded productsOperate boom equipment in a safe and appropriate mannerReports any unusual conditions encountered at customer location or in routePerforms emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugsPerforms other work-related duties as requiredCandidate Qualifications/ RequirementsCurrent valid commercial drivers license (CDL) with exceptional driving recordMinimum two years "over the road" driving experienceAbility to read and understand maps, routes, road signsExcellent customer service skillsBasic math and measurement skillsBasic tablet/smart phone skillsKoppers Inc. and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity employers.
