Data Engineer/Analytics Developer

SummaryJob Summary (Data Engineer/Analytics Developer End-to-End ETL & BI): Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines for both structured and unstructured data from multiple sources. Build interactive reports, KPIs, and executive dashboards using Microsoft Power BI. Develop and optimize data ingestion frameworks, data cleansing, transformation, and integration processes. Implement medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold layers) for scalable analytics. Build and manage data warehouses, lakehouses, and semantic models for advanced reporting and analytics. Develop reusable notebooks, pipelines, and workflows using Azure Synapse Analytics and/or Databricks. Ensure data quality, error handling, logging, and monitoring across all pipelines. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions. Optimize performance of SQL queries, Spark jobs, and Power BI datasets. Support enterprise data governance, security, and access controls. Leverage skills in SQL, Python, PySpark, DAX, Power Query, and data transformation techniques. Utilize data orchestration tools (Synapse Pipelines, ADF, Databricks Workflows) and cloud storage solutions (ADLS Gen2, Delta Lake, Parquet). Apply knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and source control best practices to analytics solutions. Experience supporting AI/ML and advanced analytics initiatives. Prefer candidates with Microsoft Azure certifications and experience in public sector or transportation data environments. Hybrid work schedule at Baltimore, MD location; local candidates required.
