Dog Walker/Pet Sitter

Must live in or very near our service area: Central District, Capital Hill, First Hill, Leschi, Mount Baker, Madrona, Madison Park. Job Title: Dog Walker/Drop-in Visits/Pet Sitting Overnight Paw & Palm is based on the philosophy of providing mindful care when we are with your pets. We have a no cell phone or earphone policy to ensure we are fully present with your pet the entire time we are in their company during dog walks and drop in visits. We are engaged and we give our undivided attention to provide the most enriching experience. We do not rush. We want our energy to be a calming and nurturing environment so your pets are at ease while you are away. Dog Walking Responsibilities: - Walk dogs on a regular basis, ensuring their safety and well-being - Provide exercise and mental stimulation for dogs during walks - Maintain control of dogs at all times, using proper leash handling techniques - Clean up after dogs during walks and dispose of waste properly Drop-in Visit Responsibilities: - Feed, provide water, and clean up after the pet. - Spend quality time with the pet by playing with toys, brushing, and petting depending on the pet's personality. Pet Sitting Responsibilities: - Stay overnight at the pet owner's home watching over the pet and the home - Collect mail and packages, take out trash/recycling/compost bins, water plants as needed Additional Requirements: - Must be 18 years or older -Must have access to a car, a valid driver's license and car insurance to travel to different locations for jobs - Attention to detail with consistent follow through - Ability to complete tasks as directed following the pets routine exactly as outlined - Team player with a positive attitude who is responsive, coachable and friendly - Provide excellent customer service to pet owners with a fun recap and pictures after each visit - Report any unusual pet behavior or health concerns - Must be physically fit and able to handle heavy lifting (e.g., lifting large dog crates and walking 1-6 miles per day) - Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays - Must pass a background check and reference check Experience: - Previous experience working with pets in a professional setting (e.g., kennel, pet grooming) is preferred - Knowledge of basic pet behavior and body language is a plus - Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments - Being comfortable with handling pets and administering medications Join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of pets and their owners!
