Our client, a well-established, growth-oriented independent insurance agency, is seeking a Director of Personal Lines to lead and manage a sophisticated book of high-net-worth and complex personal lines business. This is a strategic, client-facing leadership role for someone who thrives in a consultative environment and takes pride in delivering white-glove service, technical expertise, and proactive risk management guidance. As Director of Personal Lines, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients while also acting as a subject matter expert and leader within the department. This role blends high-level account management with mentorship, market strategy, and carrier partnership development. You will have autonomy, visibility, and the ability to directly impact client retention, growth, and operational excellence. Responsibilities: Independently manage and retain a complex and/or high-volume book of personal lines business, including high-net-worth accountsServe as the primary client relationship manager, delivering proactive, consultative insurance guidanceLead renewal strategy, including exposure analysis, remarketing decisions, and client presentationsIdentify coverage gaps, evolving exposures, and account-rounding opportunitiesPrepare comprehensive market submissions and negotiate pricing, terms, and coverage with carriersLeverage strong carrier relationships to advocate for clients and secure competitive solutionsServe as a technical resource and mentor to Account Advisors and Account ExecutivesPartner with Producers and Leadership to share market intelligence and improve departmental performanceOversee complex service matters and ensure compliance with agency and carrier standards Required: 3-5+ years of progressive personal lines insurance experienceDemonstrated success independently managing a book of businessExperience working with high-net-worth or complex risks strongly preferredAdvanced knowledge of personal lines products, underwriting guidelines, and coverage strategyStrong analytical, negotiation, and client communication skillsActive Property & Casualty insurance license required
