Division: Real Estate Job Title: Shift Supervisor, Armed Security GuardLocation: New York NY 10004 (Governers Island) Certifications Needed: Armed Security License, CPR & First Aid, NYS EMT Certification, F03, F04, TWIC Compensation: $45.95 Per Hour ($38 + $7.95 Supplemental) Work Schedule: Thursday - Saturday 6:00am - 6:30pm (12 Hour Shifts 36 Hours)Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Armed Security Guard Shift Supervisor to support operations at Governors Island. This full-time leadership role is responsible for supervising security personnel, maintaining public safety operations, and ensuring compliance with all site-specific security and emergency response procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, prior law enforcement and/or supervisory experience, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic public environment.ResponsibilitiesSupervise and oversee daily armed security operations and assigned personnel at Governors IslandEnsure the safety and security of visitors, staff, and propertyRespond to emergencies, incidents, alarms, and public safety concerns in a timely and professional mannerEnforce site rules, security procedures, and applicable safety regulationsPrepare detailed incident and activity reportsCoordinate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and management as necessaryConduct routine patrols and inspections of assigned areasMonitor compliance with fire safety and emergency preparedness protocolsProvide leadership, guidance, and direction to security staff during assigned shiftsMaintain professionalism and excellent customer service in all interactionsQualificationsNew York State Armed Security Guard License (REQUIRED)Prior law enforcement and/or supervisory experience (REQUIRED)New York State EMT Certification (PREFERRED)Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED Certification (Within 30 Days of Employment)Must be able to obtain F03 & F04 Fireguard Certification (Within 30 Days of Employment)Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) card (Within 30 Days of Employment - Reimbursed by Company) Strong communication, leadership, and report-writing skillsAbility to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced environmentMust demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and sound judgment under pressureCompany DescriptionFounded in 1985, we have perfected our approach to high quality security.
