Position: Lead Mainframe COBOL Developer (Z Series)Location: Dallas, TX OnsiteType: FulltimeWho are we looking for:We are seeking an experienced (12+ years) Senior COBOL Developer with expertise in AS400 systems to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in COBOL programming on IBM AS400 (iSeries) platforms, coupled with a passion for modernization and innovation.Responsibilities:Technical Skills – Must haveCOBOL Programming: Proficiency in COBOL programming language with extensive hands-on experience in developing and maintaining mainframe applications.IBM Z Series Expertise: In-depth knowledge of IBM Z Series mainframe systems, including architecture, operating systems (z/OS), and utilities (TSO/ISPF, JCL, VSAM).Mainframe Development Tools: Experience using mainframe development tools and utilities for code editing, compilation, and debugging.Mainframe Modernization Techniques: Familiarity with mainframe modernization techniques such as rehosting, replatforming, or refactoring legacy applications.Unit Testing and Debugging: Ability to perform unit testing and debugging of COBOL programs to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with functional requirements.Database Management Systems: Knowledge of mainframe database management systems (DB2, IMS) and experience in writing SQL queries.Must know use of any one of the ai coding agentsMust have very strong logical reasoning abilities.Must be flexible to work on alternative technologies as per project needs.
