Our culture is fast-paced, courageous, innovative, diverse, team-based and driven to build a common goal.Job Summary:The Senior Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for the reliability, optimization, and performance of critical mechanical and process systems supporting our 24/7 Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) operation.This role focuses on water treatment infrastructure, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and process equipment including chillers, HVAC systems, pumps, valves, PLC-integrated controls, and water filtration systems.Success in this role requires strong analytical problem-solving, operational engineering experience in continuous and batch production environments, and the ability to plan and lead projects that improve uptime, energy efficiency, and system stability.Job Description:Core areas of responsibility:Continuous focus on optimizing our licenses to operate; safety and environmental compliance.Coordinate internal projects with key parties related to system design, operation and optimization.Support the design, operational optimization, and reliability of mechanical and process systems within RAS operationsAnalyze system performance data and implement financially prioritized engineering solutions to improve up-time and operational efficiencyLead and support capital improvement projects, from planning through commissioning and evaluationWork cohesively with internal team members in production, supply chain, and financeTroubleshoot and optimize chillers, HVAC systems, pumps, valves, filtration systems, and chemical treatment processesCollaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Controls teams to enhance process reliabilityWork closely with automation and PLC systems to ensure stable system performanceDevelop, implement, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategiesSupport emergency troubleshooting in a 24/7 operating environmentDrive continuous improvement initiatives related to energy usage, water quality, operational stability, and process performanceCoordinate with external vendors and engineering partnersSkills, competences, and knowledge to perform the work5-10 years of experience in mechanical or operational engineeringExperience in continuous industrial operations (power generation, marine, utilities, water treatment, food processing, chemical plants, or similar)Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, or other), aquaculture, systems operations, or related field required. Advanced technical degree or master's degree a plus.Experience managing projects and structured work planningExperience in marine engineering, Navy engineering or merchant marine operations is highly desirable.Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilityAbility to operate effectively in a biologically sensitive production environment.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a combined office and production environment within a 24/7 aquaculture facility.ScheduleCore business hours Monday through Friday with modified schedule as needed to support farm projects.
