We help build relationships, trust, confidence and community.”We are seeking an Accounting Coordinator on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is on-site in Newport News, VA.The ideal candidate will manage lease payables, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with lease agreements and company policies—all while delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.Normal work hours are 7:30 am to 4 pm, but hours can be flexible as they work 8 hours a day. ResponsibilitiesMonitor shared inboxes, manage workflows, and distribute incoming mailProcess lease-related expenses, including utilities, repairs, insurance, and real estate taxesEnsure all charges align with lease terms and internal policiesCommunicate with landlords and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and gather required informationMaintain accurate financial records through data entry and basic calculationsDraft professional correspondence and maintain organized documentationUtilize Excel and Microsoft Office tools to track, manage, and analyze dataAdapt to shifting priorities and support high-volume workloads as neededSkills And Qualifications3–5 years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting functionsStrong analytical skills with experience in statement reconciliation using ExcelHigh attention to detail with strong accuracy in data entry and financial processingExcellent written and verbal communication skills with strong follow-up practicesProficiency in Microsoft Office, including ExcelAbility to work independently and quickly ramp up in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritiesBasic understanding of accounts payable processesProven professionalism, reliability, and teamworkPreferred QualificationsExperience in real estate accountingFamiliarity with Oracle, Lucernex, or similar systemsExperience working in high-volume, fast-paced environments We offer a competitive salary range for this position.
