Embedded Software Engineer
Overview
In this role you will design and optimize embedded software powering high-precision semiconductor test equipment. You’ll work with hardware and software teams to define requirements and interfaces, and deliver real-time control solutions. You’ll optimize performance and reliability for high-throughput environments and support field teams in debugging. You join a collaborative, technically driven team that shapes critical instrumentation used across the semiconductor value chain. This is a hands-on role with meaningful impact on product quality and factory yields.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain embedded software for real-time control systemsCollaborate with hardware, FPGA, systems, and application software teams to define requirements and interfacesImplement low-level drivers and communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, PCIe) and RTOSOptimize software for performance, reliability, and scalability in high-throughput test environmentsConduct unit, integration, and system-level validationParticipate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvementSupport manufacturing and field teams with debugging and troubleshooting
Key requirementsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field3 - 10 years of embedded software development (C/C++ preferred)Strong understanding of MCUs, SoCs, FPGAs, and embedded Linux or RTOSExperience with ARM-based MCUs (PIC, STM) and Altera (NIOS2) or Xilinx (MicroBlaze)Experience with hardware bring-up, BSP, and device driversExperience implementing CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, PCIe and RTOSFamiliarity with digital/analog electronics, schematics, and oscilloscopesExcellent written and oral communication; strong software configuration management (Git, TFS, SVN)Experience with MS Office tools; Agile/Kanban experience (Azure DevOps, Jira)Willingness to travel ~10%excellent communicationteam collaborationproblem solvingembedded C/C++RTOSMCUs/SoCs/FPGA
