Property AccountantLocation: Near Troy, NYSalary: $65,000 annuallyEmployment Type: Full-Time | OnsitePosition OverviewOur well-established client is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to manage the financial operations of a portfolio of properties. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting operational and strategic decision-making.The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with property management, leadership, and external partners.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting OperationsOversee financial management for multiple properties, including cash flow monitoring and reportingPrepare monthly financial statements and perform bank reconciliationsEnsure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirementsAnalyze operating costs and assist in determining rates and financial performanceMaintain accurate accounting records related to asset activity, depreciation, and transactionsSupport accounts payable processes and provide guidance to team members as neededBudgeting & Financial PlanningLead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with property and regional managersReview and analyze financial performance against budget, identifying variancesProvide insight and recommendations to improve financial outcomesUpload and manage budget data within property management systemsReporting & AnalysisGenerate detailed financial reports including cash flow analysis, occupancy reports, and accounts receivable agingPrepare ad hoc financial analysis and projections for leadershipPresent financial results and performance insights to management and stakeholdersSupport development of proformas for new developments or acquisitionsFinancial Oversight & ComplianceEnsure timely completion and accuracy of financial statementsCoordinate and support audit processes, including documentation and regulatory complianceMaintain organized financial records and ensure timely reporting to stakeholdersCollaboration & SupportWork closely with property management teams to ensure financial processes are followedProvide financial guidance and support to internal staff and leadershipAssist with onboarding new properties and transitioning assets into accounting systemsSupport leadership with special projects and company-wide initiativesProcess ImprovementIdentify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and improve efficiencyAssist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and proceduresEnsure consistency and accuracy across financial operationsJob RequirementsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredMinimum of 3 years of accounting experienceExperience in real estate or property accounting preferredStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office SuiteExperience with property management systems (e.g., Entrata) a plusExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlinesProfessional communication and interpersonal skillsTo see a full listing of all our open positions, please visit: https://www.redshiftrecruiting.com/jobs-hiring-near-meredShift Recruiting is the region's premier recruiting agency with over 100 years of combined experience in the recruiting field.
