Electrical Design Engineer

Field Service Engineer Electrical Designer - Medium Voltage OVERVIEW We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to support the design and documentation of power distribution products and integrated electrical systems for a rapidly growing manufacturer KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Create, revise, and maintain electrical drawings using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar design platforms Develop one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnect drawings, panel layouts, cable schedules, and device layouts Translate design concepts, sketches, engineering markups, customer specifications, and production redlines into complete and accurate drawing packages Develop and maintain bills of materials, ensuring part numbers, quantities, device tags, ratings, and drawing references align with project requirements Collaborate with electrical engineers and design engineers on design reviews, drawing standards, technical decisions, and design-for-manufacturing improvements Support the design of control panels, panelboards, switchgear, switchboards, low-voltage distribution equipment, medium-voltage equipment, and auxiliary electrical systems Coordinate with procurement, project management, production, and quality teams to support material readiness and manufacturing schedules Maintain drawing revisions, as-built documentation, engineering change updates, and revision-controlled project files Review drawings and bills of materials for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and manufacturability Support production questions, first-article inspections, factory acceptance testing, and technical troubleshooting as needed QUALIFICATIONS 1+ years of experience in electrical CAD, electrical design, drafting, manufacturing design, industrial design, power distribution, automation, or construction documentation Associate degree, technical certificate, drafting or design certificate, electrical technology background, or equivalent practical experience Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or comparable electrical design software Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, control schematics, and panel layouts Working knowledge of electrical components, including breakers, fuses, relays, contactors, transformers, terminal blocks, panelboards, control panels, and switchgear components Experience creating and maintaining drawing packages, bills of materials, drawing revisions, and production-support documentation Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple design assignments simultaneously Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, procurement, project management, production, quality, and field-support teams Experience designing UL 508A control panels, industrial control panels, panelboards, switchboards, or switchgear preferred Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, UL, IEEE Standards preferred Experience supporting low-voltage or medium-voltage power distribution preferred Industry experience involving data centers, industrial facilities, utilities, manufacturing, oil and gas, renewable energy, or other mission-critical environments preferred - For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
