About the RoleWe’re looking for a highly creative Freelance Social Media Manager & Content Creator. This role is perfect for someone who lives behind the camera, has a strong visual eye, and knows how to turn everyday moments into engaging, social-first content.You’ll be responsible for planning, capturing, editing, and publishing content that brings brands to life across social platforms, with a strong focus on video-first storytelling.What You’ll DoConcept, shoot, and edit original content for socialCapture photo and video content on-site in Chicago (events, spaces, products, people)Own the full content creation process—from idea to final postDevelop creative concepts that align with brand voice but push boundariesEdit short-form video (cuts, transitions, text overlays, trending audio)Take and edit high-quality photos for social usePost and manage content across platformsStay on top of trends and quickly create reactive or trend-based contentEngage with the audience through comments, DMs, and community interactionWhat We’re Looking ForA strong portfolio of content you’ve personally shot and edited2+ years creating social-first content for brands or personal channelsComfortable being scrappy, fast-moving, and experimenting creativelyAbility to film in real environments (not just polished studio content)Chicago-based and available for regular in-person shootsEngagement DetailsFlexible schedule with recurring on-site shoots in ChicagoEstimated 15-20 hours per weekPotential for ongoing, long-term collaboration
