CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer

CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer Located in Glendale, CA, this full-time position offers a path to permanent employment. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with an initial pay rate of $30 per hour. Our high-volume production facility focuses on specialized micro abrasive sandblasting technology. We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Machinist / Programmer to support our Glendale operations. You will oversee the full production lifecycle, from initial programming and machine setup to the final inspection of precision parts, ensuring all work meets rigorous engineering standards. Core Responsibilities Execute the programming, setup, and operation of CNC milling machinery for both individual parts and production batches. Analyze engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T requirements to ensure manufacturing precision. Create and refine CNC code using G-code or specialized CAM software. Determine the optimal selection of cutting tools, workholding methods, and machining parameters for diverse materials. Configure machine parameters, tool offsets, and work coordinates to prepare for production. Conduct initial and ongoing quality inspections to help maintain high standards for all manufactured components. Adjust programs and offsets to ensure parts consistently meet dimensional specifications. Resolve technical challenges related to tooling, programming, or machine setup. Enhance manufacturing workflows to boost efficiency, extend tool longevity, and reduce cycle times. Document production data and inspection results accurately. Uphold a tidy workspace and perform regular machine maintenance to support operational reliability. Adhere to all safety protocols and quality guidelines to help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team. Collaborate with production and engineering staff to address manufacturing hurdles and drive process improvements. Required Qualifications Demonstrated background working as a CNC Programmer or Mill Machinist. Comprehensive grasp of machining principles and CNC milling operations. Competency in interpreting mechanical blueprints and GD&T standards. Skilled in G-code usage and the modification of CNC programs. Prior experience with CAM programming is highly valued. Capable of performing independent machine setups and operations. Deep understanding of machining practices, including feeds, speeds, and tool selection. Proficient in utilizing precision measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Strong mechanical problem-solving abilities. Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the production of high-quality components. Ability to contribute effectively both as an individual and as a member of the production team. Preferred Qualifications Background in the production of precision or small-scale components. Experience achieving tight tolerances in a machining environment. Familiarity with machining various engineering materials and metals. Experience operating multi-axis CNC milling equipment. Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software platforms. Experience within a professional manufacturing production setting.
