DutiesGreet visitors and applicants to the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS).Distribute workload among employees.Provide technical guidance and training.Question applicants to obtain and/or verify complete data required for final data processing of forms and records for entry into military service.Operate a keyboard to record and transcribe alpha numeric data.Obtain fingerprints using automated systems.Prepare travel orders and reviews accounting data for accuracy.Administer pre-oath briefings, and briefs applicants concerning MEPS procedures.RequirementsConditions of employmentAppointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.This position requires the incumbent to work unscheduled overtime to accommodate fluctuations in workload based on the daily mission requirements.This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete applicable Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS Training within 30 days of on boarding and/or as required.Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.Direct deposit of pay is required.You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.This position has been designated as non-sensitive and requires a personnel security background investigation.Qualified Typist is required (40 wpm).QualificationsWho May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job.
