Lead Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will lead operational priorities focused on execution quality, efficiency, safety, and measurable performance outcomes. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a regulated financial services environment.Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship availableCompensation: $139,900 – $199,300 annuallyResponsibilities Architect and develop backend services and APIs for payment workflows and integrations Lead initiatives to enhance system scalability and fault tolerance for Rapid Paycard operations Collaborate with InfoSec, DevOps, QA, and Product teams for secure implementations Implement observability and monitoring solutions to meet SLA adherence Drive automation of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure provisioning Mentor junior engineers and advocate for engineering best practices Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and contribute to roadmap planningQualifications 7+ years in software engineering, with 2+ years in a technical leadership role Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Go; experience with Spring Boot or similar frameworks Strong understanding of RESTful API design, OAuth2, and microservices architecture Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD Knowledge of payment gateways, ACH, card networks, and transaction protocolsBenefits Work from Anywhere model promoting remote work flexibility Eligibility for long-term incentives and equity grants Diverse and inclusive work environment with a commitment to equal opportunity Reasonable accommodations for candidates on requestOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
