M&S System Engineer

deciBel Research has an immediate opening for an experienced System Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO.Position Description:deciBel Research is seeking an experienced System Engineer to work with a group of engineers to generate the kinematic output data of simulated missile trajectories for the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA's) Threat Modeling Center (TMC). This data is delivered as part of an Integrated Threat Product (ITP) to various Department of Defense customers (primarily within MDA) to drive the Threat portion of their simulations.The successful candidate will:Review customer scenario requests and provide feedback on potential problems or issues before the production process beginsReview the final document and data to ensure the customer's objectives were met and the high-resolution data accurately reflects the specifications provided to the Threat Modeling CenterGenerate kinematic trajectories using the TMC's Threat Modeling & Simulation Suite (TMSS) and trouble-shooting products and dataWork closely with the TMC's System Engineering and Software Development groups, as most of the tools used by the group are developed in-houseThis role requires employees to be onsite at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO on a daily basis with no option for remote or hybrid work.Target salary range: $75,000 - $130,000. Full-time and part-time deciBel employees will enjoy benefits offered by deciBel Research as soon as they meet eligibility requirements for each particular benefit.Education Requirements:Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM related disciplineExperience Requirements:2+ years relevant experience with Bachelor's degree or 0+ years with Master's degreeExperience in modeling and simulationKnowledge of missiles and six degrees of freedom (6 DoF) trajectory representationFamiliarity with missile defense system components and their interoperabilityUnderstanding of Linux and Windows based platforms with their associated softwareAbility to work independently and in groups and must be a self-starterExcellent time management, schedule estimationExcellent oral and written communication skillsSpecial Skills Desired:Knowledge of missile targeting and allocation and "Red Force" laydownsExperience with infrared and radar cross section (RCS) signaturesExperience in systems engineering and/or software development and testing, especially with Agile methodologyQuality control experience with a strong background in test and troubleshootingExperience working within the Missile Defense Agency, especially related to Ground Test exercises/eventsAbility to lead projects and delegate technical tasksApplicant selected must have an active Top Secret security clearance, with SCI eligibility.
