Jet Container is a family-owned manufacturing company looking to add a Maintenance Apprentice to their team!
JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Apprentice will, under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Technician, perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment. This includes machine preventative maintenance and repair, light plumbing and electrical, basic carpentry and other building systems as needed/directed by management. On-the-job training is provided.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Under the direction of the Maintenance Technician, inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of maintenance and/or repair.
Works with Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
Assists in planning repair work using blueprints or equipment manuals as needed.
Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include temporary fixes while awaiting replacement parts, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
Assists other maintenance staff in performing routine maintenance on facility systems.
Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a warehouse/production environment. This role routinely works with general labor and production equipment, such as tape measures, box cutters. This role will frequently perform maintenance work on production machines under direct supervision of experienced maintenance staff, such as die cutters, flexo-machine, jumbo flexo-machine, slitter, and stitcher. This role will also work on maintenance of the warehouse.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and talk or hear; climb stairs and/or ladders. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
SCHEDULE:
Second shift: Monday - Thursday 1 PM - 11 PM
