Model-Based Engineering – Training Systems Engineer

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Model-Based Engineering – Training Systems Engineer (Virginia Beach, VA) Position Summary ARO Corp is seeking a Systems Engineer who is motivated to support the development of Navy training systems within a collaborative engineering environment. The ideal candidate is eager to improve the capability of Navy shipboard embedded training design through Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) while developing new technical skills within a team environment. This role is based on-site in Virginia Beach, VA, where you will work closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team to support systems engineering activities for Naval training system design, development, testing, and fielding. Responsibilities Collaborate with engineers to support system architecture, design, and integration efforts Assist in the development, refinement, and maintenance of system models using MBSE tools Participate in requirements analysis, system decomposition, and interface definition activities Contribute to technical documentation and engineering processes Engage with team members to support ongoing engineering initiatives and deliverables Ensure compliance with all applicable security policies, procedures, and program requirements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline 3+ years of professional experience in software, systems, or related engineering roles Ability to work on-site in Virginia Beach, VA Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance Desired Qualifications Experience with and/or strong interest in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Familiarity with Cameo Systems Modeler, SysML, and/or UML Experience with Navy shipboard combat systems and embedded training systems, including but not limited to: Battle Force Tactical Trainer (BFTT), Advanced Training Domain (ATD), Aegis combat systems, Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS), and Enhanced Collection System (ECS) Experience supporting system architecture model development and maintenance Exposure to requirements traceability, interface definition, and functional decomposition Experience working in defense, naval, or government-focused development environments Exposure to digital engineering tools such as Confluence, Jira, or similar systems Company Overview Arorae Corporation (ARO Corp) is a veteran-owned, small business focused on delivering advanced technology solutions and systems engineering services to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).
