This role serves as a key driver of AS9100D compliance, audit readiness, and systemic process improvement — partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, and Program teams to embed a culture of quality and compliance throughout the organization.The Quality Systems Engineer will own QMS execution and roadmap development, lead internal and external audit programs, manage digital QMS tools and data platforms, and drive root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives. This position is critical to supporting certification activities, production flow continuity, and scalable quality operations as Millennium grows its manifest.This position's internal job code is Quality Engineer. Our team is currently hiring for a Level 1-2.Position Responsibilities:QMS Development & ManagementDevelop, lead, and manage the execution of the QMS and its top-level processes, ensuring alignment with AS9100D, ISO 9001, customer, and regulatory requirementsBuild and maintain the internal QMS roadmap for tools, capabilities, and processes to match program growth, new product introductions, and customer requirementsPartner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Global Supply Chain to develop processes, digital tools to meet QMS requirements and advance new quality capabilitiesBecome a systems expert for QMS tools, processes, and data sets to enable effective quality execution across all programsAudit Program LeadershipPlan, coordinate, and execute the internal & external audit program against AS9100/ISO standards and customer-specific requirements; manage audit scheduling, resource allocation, and results reportingSupport external certification audits and customer audits; interface with third-party registrars and government auditors as requiredMeasure, analyze, and report quality system and audit metrics to leadership; identify trends and drive systemic corrective actionsProcess Improvement & Corrective ActionDrive root cause analysis and corrective action (CAPA) for internal audit findings, customer observations, and nonconformance trendsIdentify and implement continuous improvement opportunities that benefit the QMS and overall product qualitySupport investigations, quality initiatives, and cross-functional projects at the team and organizational levelTraining & ComplianceProvide training and guidance on quality system policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to internal stakeholders across enterpriseDevelop QMS training modules and packagesEnsure compliance with AS9100D, and applicable regulatory requirements throughout the production lifecycleMetrology, Calibration & Measurement SystemsSupport the metrology and calibration program, ensuring measurement equipment is maintained, calibrated, and compliant with AS9100 and customer requirementsDevelop and track KPIs related to tool control, calibration adherence, equipment utilization, and on-time performance to drive measurement system reliability and audit readinessData, Metrics & ReportingPlan, measure, analyze, and report quality system performance metrics to support data-driven decision makingLeverage data analytics platforms, reporting tools, and business intelligence systems (ERP, Power BI) to extract insights and support QMS effectiveness reviewsBuild and maintain dashboards and reports using SQL, Tableau, Python, Excel, or similar toolsBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM discipline; or 4+ years of equivalent Quality Systems Engineering experience in lieu of a degree3–5 years of experience in aerospace and/or defense manufacturing in a quality systems roleExpert knowledge of QMS requirements and auditing in a complex product environment, with demonstrated experience in one or more of the following standards: AS9100D, ISO 9001:2015This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
