Data Engineer (Snowflake, dbt)

No 3rd party firms .Position: Data Engineer (Snowflake, dbt) Location: 2-day onsite in Long Beach, CA (Only local candidates will be considered) Terms: Contract-to-hire Compensation: $65.00 to $85.00 per hour (DOE).Are you passionate about building scalable, high-performing data platforms that power critical business decisions? We're looking for a hands-on Data Engineer to partake in the enterprise data ecosystem, driving the architecture, reliability, and evolution of a modern cloud-based data platform. .In this role, you'll serve as the primary technical owner of our Snowflake data warehouse, dbt transformation framework, and broader data engineering environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring data quality, availability, scalability, and governance across reporting, analytics, and operational use cases. .What You'll DoInvolved in the design, development, and governance of enterprise data models, dbt transformations, and overall data architectureBuild, maintain, and optimize scalable ELT pipelines using SQL and Python, integrating data from SQL Server, third-party applications, APIs, and flat files into SnowflakeOwn data platform infrastructure, automation, deployment processes, and engineering best practicesEstablish and maintain data quality standards, monitoring frameworks, and technical documentationPartner closely with BI teams, business stakeholders, and IT leadership to guide data strategy and architectural decisionsEnsure compliance with HIPAA requirements and established governance and change-management processesWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or equivalent practical experience5+ years of experience building and supporting enterprise data platforms and large-scale data integration solutions3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbtStrong SQL and Python development skillsExperience with cloud technologies and modern data engineering tools; AWS (S3, ECS, Lambda) preferredExposure to Terraform, CI/CD practices, Airflow, or Dagster is highly desirableExperience working in healthcare or other HIPAA-regulated environments is a plus. .All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
