Job Description:Medical Director Hematology/Oncology opening in Knoxville, TNFull-time, permanent positionGroup seeking Medical Director to lead growing team of medical oncologists/hematologists and advanced practice providersOverview: - Lead recruitment, retention, mentorship, quality, and growth management for physicians and APP - Represent medical oncology services across the system, both inpatient and outpatient, to other physician groups and to executive leadership of facilities and service lines - Be a major contributor to strategic initiatives for medical oncology, and the full Health System cancer program, on a 4-year expansion plan with other visionary leadership. - Act as the public face for the group for general marketing, public events, and physician-group relations - Head efforts to integrate, align, and standardize operations - Lead quality and safety program for medical oncology - Ensure physician presence in all medical oncology leadership meetings, clinical decision making - Participate in the development of policies, procedures, continuing education programs, and training of providers and staff - Participate in budget planning and prioritization - Balanced Role: Flexible mix of clinical and administrative responsibilities---Qualifications: - Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (DO) - Candidates must be board-certified in medical oncology - Minimum of 7 years clinical experience - Previous leadership experience - Tennessee Medical License-eligible---Comp/Benefits: - Competitive salary including a generous sign-on bonus - RVU bonus potential - Quality bonus - CME allowance - Paid malpractice insurance - Flexible relocation assistance---About the Group: - The group serves as the medical oncology group for the medical oncology program - The group currently is made up of 35 Providers covering eight locations with over 50,000 patient visits annually - Health System includes nine acute care hospitals - More than 4,500 cancer cases are diagnosed annually within the health system---About Knoxville, TNKnoxville is located on the Tennessee River in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.
