Night Manager-Homewood Suites
The Night Manager is in charge of overseeing the hotel's operations from 3pm-11pm. This position is required to guarantee optimum guest relations concurrent with managing and supervising department staff members. The goal of the Night Manager is to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that encourages guests to return and to recommend our hotel property and brand to others.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Supervise the daily operations of the Hotel
Monitor the work of all hotel employees
Communicating properly to each department with every issue that might arise accurately and timely
Completing accurate incident/workman comp reports with every issue that might arise accurately and timely
Assist in any department in need, helping cover during all breaks if needed
Remaining calm during all stressful situations
Ensure all health and safety measures and all liquor laws are obeyed, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons
Enforcing hotel policies as it pertains to guests
Ability to inspect guest rooms and assist housekeeping with their needs on a daily basis
Familiarity with life safety, fire panel operations, location of isolation valves, and basic building maintenance knowledge
Good city knowledge, familiarity with the Indianapolis area with the ability to give great directions, and recommendations to restaurants and attractions
Coaching employees to assist in strengthening their skills with guests and coworkers
Assist night audit staff with late night room calls of guest request or noise complaints
Communicate to security with ongoing activities in the hotel and/or things they may need to be aware of at the end of the shift
This position will report directly to the Front Office Manager of the hotel
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver’s license and current insurance
Computer skills is a must
Must have hotel experience
Accounting experience
Multi department management knowledge is ideal
Continuous standing/walking throughout the shift
Excellent customer service skills is a must
Strong leadership skills is a must
Strong conflict resolution and service recovery skills are a must
Polished, professional appearance and positive attitude
Strong delegation/prioritizing skills are a must
Must be available to work any night of the week
Front desk knowledge and/or able to learn quickly for this position is key
Strong cash handling and mathematical skills are a must
