Job Title: Manual Machinist (2nd & 3rd Shift) – Precision ManufacturingLocation: Indianapolis, IN 46201 (Onsite)Shifts Available:2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 11:00 PM3rd Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AMOpenings: 2 per shiftJob OverviewWe are hiring experienced Manual Machinists to support precision machining and fabrication operations in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on producing high-accuracy components using manual machining equipment while interpreting blueprints and ensuring tight tolerances. Candidates must have strong hands-on machining experience and be comfortable working independently on assigned shifts.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, welders, and balancing equipmentPerform machining operations including turning, milling, threading, boring, drilling, grinding, and dynamic balancingRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to produce precision partsUse precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.) to verify dimensions and tolerancesPerform welding and metal finishing tasks as needed (MIG, TIG, Stick, Oxy-Acetylene, metal spray processes)Record measurements, calculations, and production data according to company standardsMaintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environmentRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required (technical certificate or associate degree preferred)3+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist or equivalent hands-on machining experienceAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsStrong understanding of machining math (fractions, decimals, tolerances, measurements)Experience using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges)Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in non-standard machining situationsEffective communication skills and ability to work independently or in a teamMust Have SkillsHands-on experience operating manual lathes, mills, grinders, and drill pressesProven ability to read blueprints and produce parts to tight tolerancesPreferred QualificationsTechnical certificate or associate degree in mechanical or electrical fieldExperience in tool & die, heavy fabrication, or CNC machining with manual setup exposureFamiliarity with traditional/manual setup methods using gauges and adjustmentsWork Location & ScheduleOnsite role in Indianapolis, IN 46201Must be available for 2nd or 3rd shift workReliable transportation required due to shift hoursLocal candidates strongly preferred (within ~30–45 minute commute; surrounding areas include Carmel, Fishers, Greenwood, Plainfield, Speedway, Beech Grove, Brownsburg, Avon, Zionsville)Additional InformationFull-time, direct hire positionNo relocation assistance availableCompetitive pay based on experience and skill levelManual Machinist, Machinist Jobs Indianapolis, CNC Manual Machinist, Precision Machining, Tool and Die Machinist, Lathe Operator, Milling Machine Operator, Grinding Machine Operator, Blueprint Reading, Industrial Machinist, Manufacturing Jobs Indianapolis, Metal Fabrication, Skilled Trades Jobs
