Systems Engineer - Sustainment Engineering & Digital Thread
For our client, we are seeking a Systems Engineer - Sustainment Engineering & Digital Thread to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space.This role will support sustainment engineering efforts tied to a major federal digital transformation initiative. The position will focus on maintaining lifecycle traceability, strengthening configuration control, and enabling disciplined integration of technical data across the full system lifecycle.The ideal candidate will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including cybersecurity and logistics teams, to translate operational needs into actionable engineering artifacts and recommendations. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who can help improve sustainment planning, product support, and model-based lifecycle visibility in a complex government environment.Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship availableCompensation: $107,900 – $195,050 annuallyResponsibilities Provide sustainment engineering support for federal digital transformation initiatives Manage digital thread linkages across all phases of the system lifecycle Champion the adoption of PLM software and manage related processes Support configuration management and maintain technical data packages Analyze sustainment requirements and develop technical recommendations Develop engineering artifacts such as CONOPS and sustainment plans Translate operational requirements into traceable model artifactsQualifications Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline 8-10 years of experience, or 6-10 years of experience with a Master's degree Experience in sustainment engineering or product support for complex systems, including lifecycle support planning and configuration management Hands-on experience with PLM software such as PTC Windchill or Siemens Teamcenter Proficiency in digital thread management for lifecycle data Experience with complex federal IT or systems engineering projects Strong written and verbal communication skillsBenefits Opportunity to work in a high-impact federal program Engagement with high-level stakeholders Potential for significant professional development in digital transformation Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity and logisticsOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
