DC Tech – Job Description
Role Overview
On-site Data Center support engineer providing hands-on technical assistance under SME guidance.
Hardware & Server Support
Power cycle, rack, stack, install and decommission servers and equipment
Swap CRU components, hot spares and loaners
Troubleshoot hardware, firmware and RAID issues post-replacement
Configure ILOs and network management tools
Network Support
Perform end-to-end cable patching, testing and tracing
Replace SFPs, hardware modules, ports, power supply and fan assemblies
Wireless AP replacement and console access to network devices
Apply network configurations under L3 team guidance
Inventory & Asset Management
Receive, verify and record new equipment shipments
Maintain 100% accuracy in DCIM tool
Asset tagging, barcoding and audits (monthly/quarterly)
Manage spare parts inventory and stock levels
Portable Storage Media (PSM)
Tape rotation, vaulting (inbound/outbound), media tracking
Monthly 100% media verification and quarterly audits
Media destruction and chain of custody management
Cage & Logistics Management
Move assets in/out of secured cages
Shipping, receiving, RMA replacements and disposal
Vendor/Telco escorting and meet coordination
General Duties
Maintain ticket updates and swivel desk
Conduct daily floor inspections and safety checks
Follow structured cabling best practices at all times
Provide after-hours support during critical change activities

Pay: $64,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
