Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic Project Manager specializing in Industrial Sheet Metal to lead and oversee complex construction projects from inception to completion. This role offers an exciting opportunity to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage project schedules, and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for industrial sheet metal projects being completed without safety incidents Ability to manage multiple activities/projects is required for this role Build long-term relationships with owners and architects turning them into repeat customers Attend project meetings, ensure the appropriate subcontractors are present when contracted under Modern Review job estimates and prepare project budgets Willing and capable to perform estimates and/or coordinate with pre-construction/estimating team Responsible for the coordination and execution of submittals, buyout, contract changes, subcontracts and purchase orders. Execute ensure that all contract administrative requirements are timely Estimate and negotiate change orders Track, forecast, report labor hours and material costs Expedite and track deliveries of major equipment/materials Maintain working knowledge of general conditions, work scope and specifications of project contract/subcontract Maintain and control documents in compliance with policies, as well as contractual compliance Collaborate with field labor supervision to plan, organize and schedule project work, including preparation of subcontract/contract integrated project schedule Collaborate with the design team on design-build projects Review contract drawings, detail drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy Prepare fabrication shop work package including detail drawing review, material take off and man-hour fabrication budget Review vendor/subcontractor invoices, approve as appropriate Ensure the monthly owner billings are completed Complete an accurate, monthly, work in process report Administer project closeout operations, including but not limited to coordination of final billings. Coordination and submittals of OEM/training documentation. Ensure full compliance with Modern safety program at the jobsite. Perform other duties as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Develops and maintains positive and effective working relationships with others Open to developing self by engaging in continued training/learning opportunities Must have strong math and science skills Must be detail oriented Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills Knowledge of how to read and comprehend blueprints Must be able to work effectively as a member of a team Advanced organizational and time management skills Strong written and oral communication skills to communicate at all levels Thorough understanding of work rules contained in Collective Bargaining Agreements. Ability to multi-task job responsibilities Advanced computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project, Access, and AutoCAD Work Environment Must be able to work in high pressure situations facing strict deadlines. This is not an 8-5 job, as long hours are sometimes a requirement to meet deadlines Must be familiar with job site safety requirements and be prepared to wear a hard hat, work boots and goggles at potentially dangerous job sites Hours will often exceed 40 hours per week to effectively perform this salary position Leadership and oversight responsibilities require consistent work start times and work weeks Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position Work on construction sites will typically have more challenging access and terrain Qualifications and Education Requirements Construction Management or Construction, Mechanical, Civil or General Engineering degree preferred and/or completion of a qualified Mechanical apprenticeship program Experience in the sheet metal industry AAP/ EEO Statement At Modern, we understand that every employee is different in their own way.
