Part-time Production Accountant

Join Our Creative Team as a Part-Time/Hourly Production Accountant! Aligned Pictures is on the lookout for a detail-oriented and proactive part-time/hourly Production Accountant to be a key part of our team working on an exciting CG animated series. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about animation and production finance to contribute to a CG animated series. About the Role: As a Production Accountant, you'll play a vital role in overseeing financial processes for a CG animated series. You will collaborate closely with production teams to ensure accurate and efficient financial management, including reviewing contracts, schedules, and talent agreements. Your expertise will help streamline vendor payments, manage inter-company transactions, and support the overall financial health of the project. Key Responsibilities: Set up the initial budget with cashflow and milestones payment with the producers Review contracts, schedules, talent agreements, SOWs, purchase orders, and inter-company transactions associated with the series. Process Local 839 and 700 artist homework payments, partnering with production management and contract admin to submit necessary documentation to WFA/Global Payroll. Review overseas animation vendor contracts and maintain smooth payment processing through vendor portals. Process milestone invoices in accordance with SOWs and resolve any outstanding payment issues. Handle all invoices related to post-production and music payments—review purchase orders and contracts, resolve mismatches, and ensure timely payments. Maintain and update payment trackers, outstanding commitments, and cost reports, providing regular updates to clients in collaboration with the Line Producer, Producer, and Studio Manager. Track studio finances via approved software and pull financial reports for the head of studio. Train additional members of the accounting team Perform other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the production. Who You Are: Minimum of 2 years of previous accounting experience, with at least 1 year specializing in animation production accounting. Live-action experience is a plus. BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including foreign exchange calculations. Proficiency in accounting software such as Excel, Smart Accounting, Quickbooks and/or PSL. Strong familiarity with SAG, WGA and IA pay practices (IA 839 and IA 700) is required. Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Effective communicator with a professional demeanor and the capacity to maintain confidentiality. Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently, prioritizing under tight deadlines, and working effectively in a fast-paced environment. Resourceful in finding solutions and following through on responsibilities.
