Marketing & Communications Specialist

Now, we're entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a Marketing & Communications specialist to join our growing Marketing team. This position is ideal for a communications generalist eager to support various facets of the Marketing team, including public relations, social media and event planning support. A large portion of this role's responsibilities will pertain to PDW's social media strategy and execution.While this role will report to the Manager of Communications, it will provide cross-functional support for the broader Marketing team.What You'll DoSocial media community management (direct message, post monitoring, and responses)Monthly metric collection and reportingMonitoring social listening capability for industry trends and sentimentsSupport team developing content for social platforms as neededSupport maintenance of media directory and collection of PDW press coverageDraft press releases and website content as neededSupport creation of quarterly customer newsletterManage sponsorships and ad placements for eventsEvent planning support and on-site staffing as neededMonitoring dashboards and looking for optimization opportunitiesBuilding out landing pages, emails, segmentation and automation in SalesforceMonitoring and reporting on digital metricsCoordinating and executing paid media effortsRequirementsBachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.2-4 years of marketing & communications experience.Knowledge of social media marketing and a strong understanding of managing major social media platformsStrong written and verbal communication skills, experience and aptitude in adopting and executing a brand voice in socialStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneouslyComfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and collaborating across departmentsAbility to travel up to 20% of the time as needed for event and marketing supportMust be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance or higher, as requiredPreferredWorking knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud and FigmaExperience in defense technology, drone industry, or related fieldsPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about regularly throughout the day and lift/carry up to 25 pounds. Must have manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. Must be physically capable of walking between office and production areas and attending events or meetings off-site as needed.Work EnvironmentThis role is based in Huntsville, AL and requires on-site presence. We are currently unable to provide relocation support, so local candidates are highly preferred. This position operates primarily in a professional office environment with occasional work in a manufacturing setting. It requires the use of standard office equipment and systems. This role involves cross-departmental collaboration and both independent and team-based responsibilities.
