Pipe Welding Instructor - Rhoads

Overview Focus Factory Training (D794) is currently looking for an organized, self-motivated Pipe Welding Instructor for onsite support for strategic sourcing initiatives at the Philadelphia, PA Focus Factories.This position will report to the Chief of Training for Strategic Sourcing at the Rhoads site. The instructor will be part of a team, responsible for the training of supplier staff in various courses related to various pipe welding processes and wire types, as well as additional welding related courses.Qualified candidates will have a strong commitment to Safety and Procedural Compliance, be a self-starter and possess strong verbal & written communication skills.Candidates must also be driven by a desire to develop themselves and others, as well as possess the ability to multi-task with a friendly, approachable customer service demeanor. Responsibilities & Duties The responsibilities & duties include but are not limited to:Instructing multiple welding related classroom courses including Workmanship, AWPSS and Safety BriefsInstructing multiple pipe related classroom coursesProvide quality oversight of supplier embedded instructors to support site training needsDirecting and assessing hands on training with practice and testsEnforcing safety rules and regulations in training and during deck plate auditsAssessing student performance & identifying non-conformance to policies, procedures and technical documentsSupporting various course content reviews and related activitiesConducting assessments as needed/scheduledManage class rosters and training OQE submittal paperworkMeeting with Focus Factory Leadership regarding student performance as neededConsistently grade tests and quizzes to ensure knowledge capture and understanding of training topicsCommunicate with other team members to advance work & communicate issuesSupporting special training projects as requiredSupport the Training department goals and objectives with other responsibilities as assignedMust complete and maintain NDT requirements for Welding QualificationsReady to learn and take on additional responsibilities and duties as neededWork Schedule The selected candidate will be assigned the following schedule:General first shift hours (7:00am - 3:30pm) with flexibility to adjust hours to support 2nd & 3rd shifts as needed with flexibility to supportAbility to work additional overtime as directed (including weekends)Ability to support business travel approximately 20+% annuallyQualifications Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent4+ years of welding trade experience2+ years of work experience at Electric BoatInstructing/teaching experience (formal or informal)Leadership experience (working leader, MDU, SS ...ETC)Preferred RequirementsAdvanced educational course work including certifications, associates or other advanced education degreeProficient in 3 or more welding processesExperience with non-destructive testing, AWPSS & SRTExperience with various business systems, i.e. SRT/LMS, PQS, ATAExperience with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Excel, Word and OneNoteProficiency virtual and/or remote technologiesSkills Successful candidates for the position will:Have business travel/EWA experienceHave a strong ability to prioritize & complete multiple complex assignmentsHave a strong ability to direct in a classroom and workshop environmentHave excellent written, verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal skillsHave demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office SuiteBe comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic work environmentHave a strong willingness to think critically and problem solveHave the ability to professionally engage with supplier staffBe comfortable with new teaching technologies and willing to adapt to new teaching approachesPhysical Qualifications Color Vision, Kneeling, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, Twisting Environmental Attributes Cold, Dry, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Outside, Wet
