Description:The HR Generalist – Employee Relations & Compliance plays a critical role in supporting the execution of Human Resources functions across multiple entities and states, with a primary focus on employee relations support, fact-finding, documentation, and compliance coordination.This role serves as the first point of contact for employee concerns and HR-related inquiries, conducts initial intake and fact-finding for employee relations matters, and prepares documentation to support consistent and compliant decision-making. The HR Generalist partners closely with HR leadership, who retains final decision-making authority on all employee relations matters.This position is ideal for an HR professional with foundational experience who is looking to grow their expertise in employee relations, investigations, and compliance within a structured and fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Relations Intake & SupportServe as the first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and complaintsConduct intake and triage of employee relations issues across multiple locations and statesGather relevant information, including employee statements, manager input, and supporting documentationMaintain neutrality, professionalism, and confidentiality in all interactionsEscalate complex, sensitive, or high-risk matters to HR leadershipFact-Finding & Investigation SupportConduct initial fact-finding interviews with employees and managersCollect and organize relevant documentation, including time records, communications, and performance historyPrepare clear, objective summaries and timelines of eventsMaintain organized investigation files and documentationSupport HR leadership in ongoing investigations and follow-up actionsCorrective Action & Performance DocumentationDraft corrective action documentation, including written warnings and performance-related communicationsEnsure documentation aligns with company policies, prior records, and consistency standardTrack performance management actions and maintain accurate recordsCoordinate documentation review and approvals with HR leadershipLeave of Absence (LOA) CoordinationAdminister intake process for leave requests (FMLA, PFML, ADA, and company leaves)Provide required forms and communicate next steps to employeesTrack leave timelines, required documentation, and status updatesCoordinate with payroll and benefits as neededEscalate eligibility determinations and complex leave scenarios to HR leadershipCompliance & HR AdministrationMaintain accurate and compliant employee records and filesSupport I-9 tracking, audits, and documentation complianceAssist with policy acknowledgments and training compliance trackingRun standard HR reports and support data trackingEnsure consistent documentation practices across all entitiesManager & Employee SupportProvide guidance to managers on basic HR processes and documentation expectationsSupport managers in gathering information for employee relations mattersReinforce consistent application of company policies and proceduresRecruiting & Onboarding Support (as needed)Assist with job postings, interview coordination, and offer letter preparationSupport onboarding processes within HRIS (Paylocity)Ensure a smooth and compliant onboarding experience for new hiresRequirements:Required:1–3 years of experience in Human Resources, HR administration, or a related roleBasic understanding of HR practices and employment lawsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalismStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to remain neutral and objective in employee interactionsPreferred:Experience supporting employee relations or investigationsFamiliarity with leave administration (FMLA, PFML, ADA)Experience working within an HRIS (Paylocity preferred)Experience supporting multi-location or multi-state environments
